Hostgator Review

As you’re researching online discount website hosting companies you’ll come across some really ugly reviews where Internet marketers totally bash some website hosts and some reviews that totally glorify the website hosts as these affiliate marketers (include myself) are sending you the visitor to their sales page with an affiliate link. I have been doing Internet marketing for a while now and have lots of experiences with website hosts so I can tell you the good, bad and the ugly of my experience with web hosts.

For me the utmost important aspect to my web host is indeed not the price – it’s the CUSTOMER SERVICE. Let’s face it – most Internet marketers simply don’t have time to get involved with the technical aspects of making websites. I think these days very few people actually know about scripting and how to provide technical support for websites. One of the most annoying aspects to my previous web host was that every time I asked them a technical question they’d tell me, “We don’t support that – try Google.” I got so sick of hearing that I switched to Hostgator. So far they have been excellent. I don’t like using the online chat function (by the way I heard online that you usually won’t have to wait more than 5 minutes to get Hostgator’s technical support online) and usually prefer to talk to them on the phone. I can say that I’ve never had to wait more than 3 minutes to talk with one of Hostgator’s tech support staff and that they’ve always been extremely kind to me on the telephone.

Overall Hostgator provides what most discount website host providers offer: Unlimited website hosting, numerous scripts for building websites (Wordpress, Joomla etc) and unlimited email accounts for the cheap price of $7.95 per month. I’m now on this plan with them and have several websites up and running. Another aspect I like about Hostgator is that my website load really quickly (I tend to not stuff them with too many images which would slow them) and I can long onto into my Wordpress accounts really fast. With my previous website host I would have to wait up to 5 minutes to log on to my websites and would get really annoyed!

Once aspect of Hostgator which might annoy you if you’re a newcomer to online marketing is that after you buy you new domain name at Godaddy you’ll get driven straight to your cPanel at Hostgator. As a beginner you’ll feel extremely confused the first time you’re in your cPanel. This is where you manage your domain names and files on your website hosting plan. Here’s my advice: The first time you make a website call up the support staff and tell them that you’re a newbie. They’ll happily walk you through all the necessary steps that you’ll need to know to make future websites. Please be as calm and courteous with them as possible and they’ll be very kind and considerate in return.

If I did have one negative thing to say about Hostgator is that you really need to prepare your questions before you call them. While they don’t have a lot of tutorial for total newbies they will gladly answer your questions. Don’t be afraid to admit to them that you don’t really know where to click. Another piece of advice: When you’re on the phone with them be sure to have a notebook and pen ready so that you can take notes. That way you’ll be able to apply what they teach you to future websites.

So, good luck. I hope these few paragraphs about Hostgator have helped! -David :-)

Cheap website hosting plans are make for people who want to make money online and are just starting out, but have a very limited budget. Overall these kinds of discount website hosting plans are for people who want to get up and running for the first time with their website or blog. In general these kinds of website hosting plans are perfect for people who are just looking to get their feet wet in Internet marketing and blogging.

Most website hosting companies offer a standard list of options including hosting an unlimited number of websites. The customer will also be offered lots of scripts and other options such as unlimited email accounts. In most situations the customer will only use a fraction of what the website hosting company offers.

When you first log onto your new cPanel (control panel) on your discount website hosting plan you’ll probably be confused by all the options. Don’t worry about this. For now the most important thing is that you learn to use your cPanel’s file manager and learn how to install Wordpress as most beginners use Wordpress to make websites nowadays.

Based on my comparisons of websites the one I like the most is Hostgator thanks to its cheap pricing and excellent customer service. As a newcomer to Internet marketing you’re advised to watch out for extremely cheap website hosts ($1-2/month) as they’re often fly-by-night companies and might make you pay lots of hidden fees. In the longrun these hidden fees can actually make your monthly web hosting bill exceed well over $20 – I have had many friends tell me lots of horror stories.

Of all the aspects you must consider when buying a discount web site hosting plan the level of customer service is of upmost importance. If you sign up for a cheap website hosting plan only to find out that the company’s customer service staff tell you, “Sorry, we don’t do that – Try Google,” you’ll find yourself getting extremely frustrated. With Hostgator’s just $7.95/month you can rest assured that not only will you get great website hosting and that you’re websites will load up really fast, you’ll get the best customer service in the industry.

Introduction to Website Hosting

Most newbies have no idea about the Internet

Millions of people all over the world use the Internet. Some people use it just to send emails while other people use it in their jobs and daily lives to find information. Over the past few years more and more people have taken to making money online. Most of these newcomers to the Internet have no idea about how the information superhighway works and how to make their own website on their own domain name with a hosting account.

All of the Internet’s websites’ pages are stored on website hosting companies’ servers

Each and every website that you’ve ever used – whether it’s a small niche website offering some very specific and useful information or a big corporate website, such as the site run for your online banking or stock trading, must be hosted somewhere. What this means is that all the pages on all of the websites on the Internet are actually files that are stored on computers called servers. The companies that offer the services to store these websites’ files are called website hosting companies. If you want to get started in making your own websites eventually you’ll have to work with a web host as well.

Customer service is the most important aspect to a website hosting company

As the world wide web has grown so has the demand for website hosting and bandwidth requirements. Any website hosting company that you’ll eventually deal with has a certain number of computers called servers which can host thousands of websites. In some situations you’ll deal directly with a large website hosting company, such as Hostgator.com, and rent space on their servers directly from them, or in other cases you’ll deal with a smaller website hosting company which rents hosting space from a larger company and in turn rents the space to you, the customer. Whether you’re dealing with a large hosting company or small company is not really too important – what matters most is the quality of the service you receive from your web host.

After you get your website hosting company you’ll have to consider how to make your website

What you’ve learned in this short article about website hosting is really just the beginning of the knowledge that you’ll fast pick up about making money online and online marketing. In additional to learning about your website host you’ll also have to learn about the process of how to build websites. You can either try to tackle learning how to make websites yourself as I have done with a content manager called Wordpress or you may also elect to outsource the creation of your website to a website designing company. No matter what your decision you’ll have to get get your own website hosting service provider. Personally, I use Hostgator for my website hosting and have had excellent luck with them.

What is website hosting

Web site host – the server where your website files are stored

If you’re new to internet marketing you’ll eventally have to dip your toes into the water and start learning about website hosting. Basically, a web hosting service provider is a company that allows online marketers like you and me to have a place where our websites are hosted. By “website hosting” I mean a server on the world wide web (www) or Internet our website’s files are stored. Today there are hundreds and hundreds of discount web site hosting companies. Personally, I use Hostgator because I like their price (only $7.95/month), great service, and the fact that my websites load up really fast. Today almost all website hosting companies offer many content management scrips like Wordpress which allow you to create and maintain your websites without having any technical knowledge. Also, many web site hosting companies provide services such as multiple e-mail accounts, picture image hosting and offer website template designs.

Why Buy Domain Names

How to buy a domain name – video tutorial

Buying domains and web hosting plans – now a MUST for affiliate marketers

If you’re like me and do affiliate marketing for a living you’ll soon discover that more and more affiliate marketing programs are pushing people to buy domain names and web hosting plans.

As time goes buy it seems the trend is that fewer affiliate marketing programs are allowing their affiliate sales people to link in from web 2.0 sites such as HubPages.com and Squidoo.com. Thus, you’ll need to learn how to purchase your own domain names and build your own websites.

With content management tools such as Wordpress making websites today really isn’t as complicated as it was in the late ’90s or early-00’s. You won’t have to learn any fancy HTML code and really don’t need to have any formal knowledge of website coding. However, you will have to learn the process of buying and registering domain names, buying web hosting plans from webhost providers and finally building simple affiliate marketing sites. Personally, I use Hostgator as my discount web hosting company and buy my domains at a company called Godaddy.com. I had GREAT luck with both of these companies!
